REDLINE Band Blog: May 2009

With their eagerly awaited record, Trapped Inside, NZ rock band Redline establishes itself as one of New Zealand's most progressive metal rock music bands. Success came quickly for the band who have already performed alongside Disturbed, P.O.D, Alter Bridge and Evanescence, played at the inaugural Metal Day Out Festival, as well as supporting Blindspott and The Bleeders.

Their video for Time After Time was also nominated for best independent music video at the 2005 Juice TV Music Awards.

Hanging out in London Fields

It's a mean sunny day, just kicking back and chilling in London Fields with Craig, Rich and Marcus. Was a mission catching various trains trying to get here though!

Finally in London!

Woo hoo, I'm here now with Craig, and Paul from I Am Giant who picked me up from the airport :-) Fun times ahead!

Got to Hong Kong, halfway to London!

First thing I noticed when I got off the plane was how humid it was here. Next thing I noticed was the number of people walking about wearing surgical masks to fend off swine flu! Then I noticed how massive this airport really is!

Got to Sydney, next stop Hong Kong!

Im at Sydney airport now. When I got off my flight before, airport quarantine had set up thermal cameras that scanned people as they walked through checking for anyone who may have the flu! The images that came up on their monitor screens looked like something out of predator!

And so it begins...

At Auckland airport right now waiting for my flight, thinking about how in about 34 hours I will be in London! Got to zig zag to Sydney and then Hong Kong first though.

Download Festival at Donington Park 2009

It's now less than two weeks before I finally get to fly out of New Zealand on 21 May to meet up with Craig and Rich in London.

Can't wait to kick some ass at Redline's first London show on 4 June, do some traveling and then end it all in style by going to the Download Festival on 10-12 June.

This is the sickest line up of bands I have ever seen on a concert line up and I cannot wait to be in amongst it all. Check out the poster to see who is performing, totally killer!

For now, this is a short trip to the UK for me and I'll be returning to Auckland after 4 weeks. I'll take plenty of pics and vids of the trip for you to check out.

Make sure you follow me on Twitter as I'll probably be updating that quite a bit while I'm there.
