Trapped Inside track descriptives

Redline - Trapped Inside album coverEchoes
Instrumental intro track.

Now

This song focuses on the procrastination that seems to get the better of some people, consigning them to a life of never getting anywhere.

Take Me In
Sometimes we only hear what we want to hear. For anyone having a hard time letting go - it is about realising that relationships don’t dene who you are.

Nothing Else
About people who aren’t true to themselves and think that trying to be someone they’re not is the road to individuality and popularity.

Time After Time
When you get to the point when you are feeling low and burnt out, this song will help you realise there is still someone looking out for you.

Back Again
There are addictions and demons that taunt all of us. But if we have beaten them, what makes us go back?

One Last Time
You see the end is in sight and there is nothing you can do to stop it; so you brace yourself for the last time.

Important Notice About Music Alive

Hey everyone,

So it has come to our attention that Music Alive '08 is no longer going to be an all ages event. Due to licensing laws which are out of our control, the promoters' control, and even the venues' control, people under 18 will not be allowed at the event unsupervised.

Which is dumb, because most shows we play are r18, and we were looking forward to being able to play for those of you under 18.

So...

We're looking into putting together an all ages show to make up for it. We're looking into venues right now, and hopefully we can have an announcement very soon. We apologise for any incovenience. If you have bought pre-sale tickets already, email musicalive@slingshot.co.nz and you can get it refunded.

Once again, we're sorry about this. We'll make it up to you somehow

News updates 7 Feb 2008

Hey everyone!
So it's a very exciting time for us here in Redline land! Richard has returned and we've started practicing like madmen again, and it feels real good. You don't really realise how much you miss playing until you start again!

We've got some plans underway for the video, hopefully it will be shot soon, we're just going over concepts with a couple of directors now. It should be pretty cool.

Music Alive '08 logoSomething we really want to bring to your attention is Music Alive '08. This is a concert being put on at BarRetro (formerly the Powerstation) on the 23rd of Feb, 2008. It's a charity show which is raising awareness for teen depression and youth suicide.

We feel very strongly about this topic, so when we were asked to play, we gladly accepted. This is going to be our first gig in a few months, and it's a very worthy cause, so everyone that can make it, come along! We might have one or two little surprises up our sleeves for y'all too.

Pre sale tickets are available for $10 by emailing musicalive@slingshot.co.nz. If you get pre sale tickets, you also get a CD featuring bands that are playing on the day. Bargain? Hell yes it is! It's an all ages gig, and for those over 18, there is a drinking area where you can get yourself a refreshing beverage or two, so there's something for everyone!

There's a ton of other bands playing, as it starts at 12:00 noon that day, including The Tutts, Donald Reid, our very good friends Sinfura, and plenty others. We'll be posting more details as we have them, but to support a worthy cause and have a massive day of local talent, get your asses along to BarRetro on the 23rd!

As always, feel free to send us messages and leave us comments, and we'll see you very very soon!

Chur!
Chris, Richard, Craig and Nick

Record from band of brothers redenes Kiwi rock metal

Seven years ago Chris Yong was lead guitar for Tadpole, playing tracks from their double platinum debut album Buddhafinger to large audiences across Australasia and supporting the likes of Killing Heidi, Living End, Placebo, Live and Sugar Ray and Regurgitator.

Redline band photo 1He left the band in 2003 and discussed the possibility of starting his own band with brother and drummer, Richard. “We had a jam together and it just felt good,” says Chris.

The pair officially formed redline six months later, with Chris stepping into the frontman role as vocalist.

Once joined by guitarist Craig Broadbridge and bassist Nick Gregory, the band was ready to develop a distinctive brand of rock metal that “forces itself out of its comfort zone, pushes its own limits,” says Chris of the distorted guitars, loud drums and heavy bass.

Success came quickly for the band, who have already opened for Evanescence and Disturbed, played at the inaugural Metal Day Out Festival, as well as supporting Blindspott and The Bleeders.

Their video for Time After Time was also nominated for best independent music video at the 2005 Juice TV Music Awards.

Their eagerly awaited self-funded record, Trapped Inside, redline establishes itself as one of New Zealand’s most progressive rock metal bands.

It was produced and engineered by Paul Matthews, (Blindspott, Stylus, OpShop); mixed by Kenny MacDonald (former producer for Texas and The Proclaimers) and mastered by well known alternative Swedish producer Pelle Henricsson (Poison The Well, Refused) at Tonteknik Recordings.

Blending unique and furious riffs with expressive, melodic songwriting means a track-listing that’s aggressive, hook filled and exciting.

Trapped Inside by redline will be released online worldwide in April 2008.
